I have tried the Aztec mask, but only very briefly/sporadically (I was shooting for once weekly since I know it can be too strong for people, but then I sorta forgot to keep it in my routine lol). It definitely made my skin super soft! Unfortunately I don't think it did too much for oil production :( I actually have tried oils! I used to use the Julep oil cleanser but thought it might actually be drying (it seems very counterintuitive that an oil could be drying, but my dry patches went away when I discontinued use, so I figured better safe than sorry!), and before I started Curology I was using TO's rosehip seed oil. But I was using Differin before and Curology now (which has tretinoin) so I'd be worried that a lighter moisturizer might not be enough! Even with the night cream I get a few slightly dry patches here and there.
Hmm I didn't consider that my moisturizer might be too heavy the Cerave skin renewing night cream is hella thick. Mineral makeup will hold up better against oil. You can also try a mineral foundation like bare minerals. It’s meant to make your skin extra matte so that it does NOT get greasy.
The other thing I found online that I think is a unique tip is to use a stage primer. I love their pumpkin enzyme mask so I’m super eager to try when my origins runs out. Top of my list for clay masks to try is the Peter Thomas Roth Irish moor mud mask, but it’s like $60. I personally like the origins charcoal mask, but I use it more for acne than oil. I personally found it too harsh, but the Aztec secret clay mask is super popular. Trader Joe’s has a great argan oil for like $6. You just have to use dry oils like jojoba, sesame, or argan. If you’re oily, cream is probably way too heavy.īelieve it or not, oils can help balance oil production. Sorry it took me forever to respond! But I would recommend switching out your night cream for a lightweight serum like a hyaluronic one.
